What is Bone and Joint Integrity?

As the name implies, Bone and Joint Integrity is a powdered joint support supplement.  It contains New Zealand green shell mussel, glucosamine sulfate, vitamin C, yucca, garlic powder, and digestive bacteria and enzymes.  So what makes these particular ingredients so important to maintain healthy joints?

• Glucosamine is naturally found in the body, mostly in cartilage.  Glucosamine provides the building blocks to make new cartilage which helps slow and may even start to reverse cartilage degeneration.  Over time, the body’s ability to produce it is diminished, and this requires an external supplement.
• Vitamin C is essential because aging and malnourished dogs lose the ability to produce it naturally, compromising joint health.
• Yucca has been shown to bring safe and effective relief from pain and inflammation.  It aids the body in using its own pain relieving attributes.  Yucca also contains saponins, which act like a natural cleaner for the mucous membranes of the small intestine, enabling it to be more efficient at absorbing nutrients.
• Garlic powder has many healing properties including being a(n):  antibacterial, immune system stimulate, anticancer, antioxidant, blood pressure lowering agent, antitumor, antiviral, and antifungal.
• Perna (or green-lipped mussel) naturally contains glucosamine, glycosaminoglycans (GAGs), and Omega-3 fatty acids. It is ideal for joint lubrication and water uptake in the cartilage.
• Digestive bacteria and enzymes help to increase absorption and effectiveness.

Why use Bone and Joint Integrity?

People often wonder if their human glucosamine is safe for their animals.  We typically do not recommend this.  Proper formulation and dosage are very important, so you want to make sure to follow the directions carefully on the products made specifically for dogs and cats.  It is always imperative to know the quality of any supplements and make sure that they are usable once ingested.

When should Bone and Joint Integrity be used?

Older animals that are experiencing joint problems should be using a glucosamine supplement.  In addition, cats or dogs of any age that have arthritis, hip dysplasia, or spinal disc injuries can also benefit from Bone and Joint Integrity.  If your pet is exhibiting any of these signs: difficulty or adverse reaction to walking, playing, or going up stairs, falling behind you on walks, general lethargy, limping, difficulty getting up when laying down, signs of pain when petted or touched, or aversive to any contacts, it’s time to consider adding Bone and Joint Integrity to their diet!
